Public-Space Activation Fund (PAF) supports temporary outdoor creative enhancement or engagement projects on streets, sidewalks, or adjacent spaces within public view.
Project Categories
Community Expressions, a new funding source for individual artists who wish to partner with a local business (a non-conventional art space) in their community for a one-time creative activity (presented in person and/or online. Community Expressions grants are intended to support neighborhood residents and local businesses (non-conventional art spaces) working together for the first or second time in order to foster community and economic growth.
Community Activation Fund.
This pilot funding category is made possible by a one-time allocation of American Rescue Plan funding and is intended to fund three new “signature festivals” in each of the following five City Council Districts: 3, 6, 8, 9, and 12. Applicants in this category have an opportunity to propose a community picnic with entertainment that can take place at a wide range of street-adjacent, family-friendly spaces, such as: public parks, school yards, parking lots, and other outdoor spaces that would otherwise be ineligible under the traditional Arts Activation Fund program.
PAF will continue funding traditional Arts Activation Fund projects. If you represent a collection of community artists, a local arts ensemble, a nonprofit organization, or a commercial business invested in activating your neighborhood through the arts.
